About You
 
This role is part of the SECASA Groups and Expressive Therapies Team, supporting the delivery of high-quality, trauma-focused therapeutic group programs across the Adult Program and the Children, Young People and Families Program.
 
Working closely with the Groups Practitioner, you will contribute to the design, coordination, facilitation and evaluation of evidence-based therapeutic, psychoeducational and skills-based groups for children, young people and adults who have experienced sexual assault and/or family violence.
 
Grounded in intersectional, gender equality, anti-oppressive and human rights-based frameworks, the team delivers culturally safe, trauma-informed group interventions aligned with the endorsed Group Practice Framework and relevant professional standards.
 
Key responsibilities will include: 
 
  • Support the planning, facilitation and evaluation of group programs across both service streams.
  • Deliver trauma-informed, strengths-based and evidence-based therapeutic interventions within a structured group setting.
  • Contribute to program development, participant preparation and post-group review.
  • Ensure group delivery is responsive, culturally safe and aligned with best practice.
  • Apply knowledge of complex trauma in supporting children, young people and adults.
  • Work collaboratively with clients, families and key agencies in line with legislative and professional requirements.
 
This role is open to the Social Work discipline (Grade 2) and is a part-time (0.8EFT), fixed term role until June 2027, working across multiple Monash Health sites.

South East Centre Against Sexual Assault and Family Violence (SECASA) is a specialist program of Monash Health, delivering critical services across Melbourne’s south-eastern metropolitan region, the Mornington Peninsula, and the Greater Dandenong, Cardinia and Casey areas.
 
SECASA provides comprehensive support to victim/survivors of sexual assault and family violence, their families and supporters, as well as specialist services for children and young people who have engaged in harmful sexual behaviours. We are also committed to community education, professional training, and social planning initiatives that contribute to the prevention of violence and the promotion of safer communities.
 
Our multidisciplinary services are delivered across multiple locations including Dandenong, Cranbourne, Frankston, McCrae, Hastings, Pakenham and East Bentleigh, with a dedicated Crisis Care Unit based at Monash Medical Centre, Clayton. About You

 
You are a compassionate and skilled clinician with experience working with adults, children and young people impacted by sexual assault and/or family violence. You bring a strong understanding of complex trauma and feel confident delivering therapeutic interventions within a group setting.
 
 
You are collaborative by nature and enjoy working as part of a team to design and facilitate engaging, meaningful programs. You are organised, adaptable and able to respond to the evolving needs of group participants while maintaining safe and structured environments.
 
 
Your practice is grounded in trauma-informed, strengths-based and intersectional frameworks, and you are committed to culturally safe, inclusive care. Above all, you are motivated by the opportunity to create supportive spaces that foster healing, connection and growth.
