About the Department of Clinical Informatics
The Department of Clinical Informatics is where healthcare and technology come together to transform patient care.
Established in 2025, we bring together clinical, digital and innovation expertise to shape the future of healthcare across Monash Health. Our multidisciplinary team spans Nursing, Medical, Allied Health and Community Informatics, Digital Clinical Learning and Change, Artificial Intelligence, Consumer Informatics, User Experience and Clinical Coding.

About the Role
This ground-breaking role is designed to enable our clinical teams to readily and safely transform patient care, using digital technologies. Intersecting with clinical practice, digital health, change management and workplace capability building, this is a rare opportunity to lead the transition of our clinicians, in all professional streams, to embrace the benefits of a digitally thinking workplace.

As a key member of our Clinical Informatics leadership team, your success will be measured across three key result areas:

Leadership of change of learning functions and practices

Collaboration with Clinical Informatics and Digital and Information Division

Stakeholder engagement and relationship development
You’ll appreciate that the collaborative nature of this role will see you working on site at least three days per week, with flexible working arrangements available. With accountability for the function across the whole of organisation, travel across Monash Health will be required.
About You
You have a keen understanding of informatics as well as demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles. Described as visionary, you also have the ability to translate organisational objectives into practical and effective practices that advance care at the operational level.
You are comfortable working with ambiguity. Your emotional intelligence equips you with the skills and strategies to navigate the challenges of change respectfully, professionally and sensitively, adapting your style to meet the needs of varying audiences.
Our clinical teams are highly skilled, busy and saturated with information. Your job will be to enhance their Joy in Work through equipping them with a relevant, digitally-enabled approach that will see them continue to deliver consistently high standards of care in the community we serve.
What you need
Your ability to engage and influence effectively across a range of professional groups, pivoting seamlessly between clinical, technical and strategic perspectives, will be key to your success.
To be considered for this role, you’ll need to demonstrate:

Deep clinical systems expertise and success leading enterprise change

Strategic leadership of integrated change and learning functions to drive enterprise-wid digitatl transformation

Intimate appreciation of transformation as it relates to building digital capability
-
Expertise in adult learning, enabling success driving digital adoption and optimisation
-
Awareness of digital architecture and how systems communicate, share, exchange and use data
-
Detailed knowledge of clinical safety and risk management
-
Data and information fluency
Current Ahpra registration, a postgraduate qualification in Digital Health, Informatics, Learning/Education, Change Management and/or leadership are required.
