About Aged and Rehabilitation
The Aged, Rehabilitation and Community Service brings together a range of medical specialities that deliver inpatient, ambulatory, consultative and community-based services across Monash Health. The service is pivotal in facilitating an optimal patient journey out of acute hospitals and ultimately out into the community, as well as facilitating hospital avoidance. It is key to Monash Health's strategic objective of delivering more care outside of the hospital.
About the Role
Reporting to the Service Medical Director, the Head of Unit is a senior leader of the Aged and Rehabilitation Service, providing clinical leadership across inpatient and consultative Geriatric and Rehabilitation services within the network. The Head of Unit is responsible for ensuring that a strong emphasis is placed by all units on accessible and timely care, delivered to a high standard of safety and quality. This is underpinned by commitment to research and training. The Service works in partnership with professional colleagues, consumers, and a range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients. The Head of Unit is a member of the Program Leadership Team.
About You:
- Mandatory - Qualified as a medical practitioner with specialist qualifications and registration, or eligible for registration, as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia in the appropriate discipline
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Fellowship of the relevant medical specialty college and registration as a specialist medical practitioner.
- Working with Children's Check (WWCC)
- Australian Driver's License
