Permanent Full-Time Health Information Manager (HIM) role based at Monash Medical Centre, Clayton (with travel to other Monash Health sites)

 

About the Role - Health Dataset Officer (HIM)

An exciting opportunity exists for a full time Health Information Manager within the VAED (Victorian Admitted Episodes Dataset) team. The VAED dataset team is responsible for the accurate reporting of admitted patient-level data to the Department of Health (DoH).  

This position will work within the VAED Dataset team and be responsible for: 

  • Accurate reporting of admitted activity to the Department of Health (DoH), 

  • Data quality activities including data remediation, data audits and corrections, 

  • Provision of end-user support, training and education including development of user training material and other documentation, and 

  • Testing with any upgrade and/or modifications. 

You will gain knowledge in the data which all Victorian Hospitals are required to report to DoH and the associated guidelines and business rules to govern the process. Being part of the team responsible for VAED data, this position will draw on and further develop your knowledge of iPM Admission, Discharge and Transfer functions. 

 

About You:

  • Have a Bachelor (or Master) of Health Information Management
  • The successful applicant will have experience using i.PM
  • Understand DoH reporting guidelines and business rules
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work well in a team and individually
