Join Our Team – Health Dataset Officers (2 Positions Available)
We are seeking detail-oriented and motivated individuals to join our VINAH Acute and Sub-Acute dataset teams. These teams play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely reporting of non-admitted activity to the Department of Health.
As a Health Dataset Officer, you’ll contribute to essential functions including data submission, remediation, training and education, and system testing. You’ll also support the development and maintenance of business processes that ensure compliance with Department of Health reporting requirements.

- Full-time, ongoing
- Full-time, fixed-term (until August 2026)
In this role, you will:
- Conduct data quality activities such as audits, remediation, and error correction
- Extract and submit non-admitted data for VINAH reporting
- Develop reference materials and deliver training on reporting requirements
- Participate in system functionality and extract testing during upgrades
A day in the life:
You will:
- Build and continuously improve your understanding of VINAH reporting requirements, and consistently apply this knowledge when responding to queries, delivering training, analysing and resolving errors and testing system changes
- Manage multiple tasks, prioritising each to meet deadlines and adapt where requirements change
- Securely report data to the Department of Health following established business processes
- Adopt a proactive approach to problem solving issues, referencing supporting documentation and engaging with knowledgeable stakeholders
- Collaborate closely with clinic administrative staff to investigate and resolve data errors. You will proactively support staff in building and implementing their knowledge of VINAH compliant data entry processes
- Communicate clearly and effectively using a range of channels including face to face meetings and Microsoft Teams to resolve issues, coordinate tasks and share updates
What we’re looking for:
- Ability to complete tasks efficiently with accuracy and a high attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, including demonstrated ability to convey information in a clear and concise manner
- Experience in developing reference documentation and effectively presenting information to various audiences and stakeholders
- A proactive, adaptable approach to learning and problem-solving
- Willingness to travel to various Monash Health sites as needed
- Flexibility to work in a hybrid model (onsite and remote)
Ideally you will also have:
- Experience and demonstrated skills and knowledge with using iPM and/or HMS
- Previous experience reporting data to Department of Health
