The Research & Innovation Team are recruiting a Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) & Site Specific Authorisation Coordinator

 

About the Role 

The Coordinator undertakes the following key tasks:  

  • Provide secretariat support to the Monash Health Human Research Ethics Committee (MHHREC) by managing and monitoring processes for application, review and approval of HREC applications and Site Specific Assessment applications.
  • Co-ordinate the application process which includes management of the Monash Health Human Research Ethics ELO repository and ERM, in accordance with the reporting requirements of the NHMRC and Department of Health and Human Services.
  • Advise researchers and others (HRECs) on ethical implications of proposals, application procedures and regulatory requirements, for submissions to the Human Research Ethics Committee.

 

About You:

  • Completion of a degree (preferably in a health sciences field) with subsequent relevant experience or extensive experience, leading to the development of specialist expertise in administrative fields or a combination of relevant knowledge, training or experience.
  • At least 3 years work experience in Research Ethics & Governance
  • Experience in providing full Secretariat support to a Committee, including taking minutes
  • Working knowledge of the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research, The Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research and ICH GCP.
  • Proven track record of working to deadlines.
  • Experience with the ERM Research Ethics Database.
