About the Role
We are recruiting Implementation Specialist is a skilled and highly motivated implementation practitioner with experience in implementation science, systems thinking, quality improvement and health service transformation.
Working within the Monash Centre for Health Research and Implementation (MCHRI), the role will support the translation of evidence into practice through implementation support, capability building, mentoring, facilitation and applied implementation research.
The position will play a key role in the delivery of MCHRI's Implementation Science Academy, including co-facilitation of implementation science workshops, masterclasses and professional development programs. The role will support participants undertaking implementation projects through structured mentoring, coaching and practical implementation support.
The Implementation Specialist will work collaboratively with healthcare organisations, researchers, clinicians, consumers and system leaders to apply implementation science and systems approaches to complex healthcare challenges. This includes supporting implementation planning, barrier and enabler assessments, strategy selection, evaluation design, and sustainability planning.
The role will also contribute to implementation research, grant development, scholarly outputs and the advancement of Learning Health Systems and implementation science capability across healthcare settings.
Strong facilitation, stakeholder engagement, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.
About Monash Centre for Health Research and Implementation (MCHRI) - School of Public Health, Monash University and Monash Health
MCHRI sits under the Facility of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at Monash University. Established in 2005, MCHRI has grown from 3 to 180 staff and students. This is a partnership centre across Monash University and Monash Health and provides an implementation laboratory for research and translation embedded and integrated into healthcare. MCHRI works with broader reach across Monash Partners Academic Health Science Centre, nationally and internationally in our research and translation endeavours. Our vision is to create, synthesise, implement and translate clinical, health care and public health knowledge, underpinned by cross sector end user engagement, to deliver health impact. MCHRI has led organisational and individual leadership support programs in healthcare for nearly a decade.
About the Role
Key result areas:
- Co-facilitate implementation science masterclasses, workshops and capability-building programs delivered through MCHRI.
- Support the delivery of MCHRI's mentoring programs through implementation coaching, project review and participant support.
- Support implementation planning, evaluation design, adaptation planning and sustainability activities across a portfolio of projects.
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement, co-design activities and implementation workshops with clinicians, researchers, consumers and health service leaders.
- Contribute to the development of implementation resources, toolkits, educational materials and practical implementation guidance.
- Contribute to implementation research activities including data collection, qualitative and quantitative analysis, report writing and peer-reviewed publications.
- Contribute to conference presentations and dissemination activities.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with healthcare services, academic partners, consumers and community stakeholders.
About You:
- Degree qualification in a relevant discipline and demonstrated experience in healthcare, health services, healthcare improvement, implementation, policy, research translation or related sectors. Postgraduate qualifications and/or specialist training in implementation science, health services research, public health, systems science, quality improvement or related disciplines will be highly regarded.
- Salary is negotiable and commensurate with experience.
- Demonstrated experience applying implementation science, knowledge translation, quality improvement and systems thinking approaches to support implementation, service improvement, health service transformation and evidence-informed change within healthcare and related settings.
- Experience facilitating workshops, training programs, stakeholder engagement activities or group learning sessions.
- Demonstrated ability to provide coaching, mentoring or implementation support to multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience working collaboratively with clinicians, researchers, consumers, managers and executive leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse and synthesise qualitative and quantitative information to inform implementation decision-making.
- Experience contributing to research projects, evaluation activities, grant applications and/or scholarly publications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing, presentations and facilitation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, work independently and contribute effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable skills / knowledge / experience:
- Experience with Learning Health Systems approaches.
- Experience teaching or supporting professional development programs.
- Experience in implementation research and mixed-methods evaluation.
- Experience working across healthcare, public health or community service systems.
- Track record of peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations or successful grant applications.
