About the Role:
Join our team as a Intake Assistant on a Part time 0.4 FTE (30.4 hours per fortnight), fixed term (30th March 2027- with the possibility of extension), to work at Monash Medical Centre based at Clayton.

The role of the Intake Assistant is to provide assistance with processing new referrals which come into the FCC for individuals seeking information about their family history of cancer. As well, coordinate the intake process which requires working and liaising with Genetic Counsellors and other FCC team members in order to complete intake process for new referrals
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process new referrals for the FCC for individuals referred to the centre
- Liaise and work with Genetic Counsellors and other FCC team members to complete intake process
- Assist in intake process service development as required
- Participate in education activities as required
- Other tasks as deemed necessary by Director or Unit Manager
About You:
To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:
Outline skills / experience / attitude
- Applicant must be currently enrolled in a Masters of Genetic Counselling course
- Have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team, to exercise judgment, show initiative and maintain confidentiality in performance of tasks
- Essential skills: Computer skills – competence in Microsoft office
- Desirable skills: Previous experience in a Genetics Service, Familial Cancer Centre or Telephone Work
