About the Role - Laundry Assistant, Monash Medical Centre Clayton

Join our team as a Laundry Assistant on a part time 52 hours a fortnight ongoing basis to work in Laundry Servies at Monash Medical Centre, Clayton. As a Laundry Assistant, your position carries overall responsibility of the provision of sorting all clean & soiled laundry items, operation of laundry equipment along with the delivery and restocking of clean laundry items. Rotated through a variety of areas within the organisation you will work with the collection and sorting of soiled laundry items for sorting, washing, drying and folding and assist to deliver and restock clean laundry items within the site. You will have use of industrial equipment for unloading of washers, dryers and cleaning of laundry machinery and are able to display safe working practises at all times. In this role, you will be rostered to work the following shifts each week: 

  • Monday to Thursday 14:00 - 21:00  

Your responsiblities will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Cleaning within the laundry 

  • Operation of commercial washing machines and dryers 

  • Stock management of mops and cloths for wards and department usage. 

  • Packing of mops and cloths 

  • Collection of soiled mops and clothes from various areas within the hospital  

 

About Us 

Support Services is responsible for non-clinical services that includes food services, patient support, porters, cleaning, linen, pest control, central production kitchen, waste management, car parking, hygiene services and some retail services. 

 

About You 

To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge: 

  • A competent level of verbal & written communication skills 

  • A high standard of demonstrated experience in customer service from a health care or hospitality environment 

  • Basic to intermediate computer skills  

  • Able to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling  

  • Certificate III Health Services Assistant (desirable)  

  • Certificate III in Laundry Operations (desirable) 

  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence (desirable)
