About the Department / Program

Monash Health Psychology is seeking an exceptional senior psychologist to lead our Agile Psychological Medicine (APM) Clinics—an innovative, psychology-led service transforming the way consumers access early mental health intervention.


Working across Monash Health's Mental Health Program, the APM Clinics deliver rapid, evidence-based psychological care for people presenting with acute mental health needs, including suicidal distress and complex mental health conditions. Our multidisciplinary teams combine psychological, psychiatric and social work expertise, with a strong commitment to Feedback Informed Treatment (FIT), ensuring consumer feedback and outcomes drive every aspect of care.

 

About the Role

Join us as the Manager, Agile Psychological Medicine Clinics (Grade 4 Psychologist) in this permanent, full-time leadership role based at Monash Medical Centre, Clayton.

 

This is a rare opportunity to lead one of Victoria's most innovative psychology services. You'll oversee a large multidisciplinary workforce across multiple sites, shaping the future direction of the APM Clinics while ensuring outstanding clinical care, operational excellence and continuous service improvement.

 

You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Lead and inspire a highly skilled multidisciplinary team of psychologists, psychiatrists and social workers.
  • Drive an innovative, evidence-based model of care centred on Feedback Informed Treatment (FIT).
  • Champion clinical governance, quality improvement and service innovation.
  • Influence workforce development, research and strategic service planning.
  • Build strong partnerships across Monash Health and the broader mental health sector.
  • Make a genuine difference to consumers experiencing acute mental health challenges.

 

About You

You're an experienced and influential psychologist who thrives in leadership and is passionate about delivering exceptional mental health care.

 

You'll bring:

  • Significant leadership experience in public mental health or a complex healthcare setting.
  • A proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver high-performing clinical services.
  • Expertise in clinical governance, workforce leadership and service improvement.
  • Experience implementing Feedback Informed Treatment (FIT) or other outcome-focused models of care.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to inspire and influence others.
  • A commitment to innovation, evidence-based practice and achieving better outcomes for consumers.

 

Essential requirements

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Psychologist.
  • Endorsement in Clinical or Forensic Psychology.
  • Psychology Board of Australia approved Supervisor status.
  • Extensive post-registration experience as a psychologist.
