About the Role

 

An outstanding senior leadership opportunity exists for a Community Services Manager to join Clayton Area Mental Health Service (AMHS) within the Mental Health Program at Monash Health.

 

Clayton AMHS is an innovative and progressive service with a leadership group that strives for excellence. We are seeking an experienced operations leader with proven leadership capability and a demonstrated commitment to collaboration with consumers, families and external services to achieve the best possible mental health and wellbeing outcomes.

 

This is a key clinical and operational leadership role responsible for ensuring high-performing, recovery-oriented community mental health services across multiple sites. Reporting to the Deputy Operations Manager and working in close partnership with the Unit Head, discipline directors and senior medical staff, you will lead safe, consumer-centred and evidence-based service delivery.

 

This role oversees complex multidisciplinary teams and drives strategic, operational and quality outcomes across a broad community portfolio. In this role you will:

 

  • Provide operational and strategic leadership across Community Mental Health Services
  • Lead and support multidisciplinary managers to deliver safe, high-quality and efficient care
  • Foster strong collaboration with consumers, families, carers and partner organisations
  • Ensure achievement of KPIs, financial targets and accreditation standards
  • Drive service planning, innovation and continuous improvement
  • Promote and embed recovery-oriented, holistic and person-centred practice
  • Strengthen stakeholder relationships across internal and external networks
  • Lead workforce development, performance management and succession planning
  • Act as delegate for the Deputy Operations Manager as required

  • Perinatal & Infant Mental Health Team (PIMHT) – Atherton Road Centre Oakleigh and Pakenham
  • East Bentleigh Community Care Unit (CCU)
  • Clayton Prevention and Recovery Care Service (PARCS)

About You

 

You are an experienced and strategic healthcare leader with extensive operational and leadership experience within mental health services.

 

You will demonstrate:

 

  • Proven senior leadership capability in complex healthcare environments
  • Strong operational and financial management expertise
  • Demonstrated commitment to collaboration with consumers, families, carers and external services
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams across multiple sites
  • Deep understanding of recovery-oriented and person-centred practice
  • Knowledge of relevant mental health legislation and national standards
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and partnership-building capability
  • Ability to lead change, foster innovation and drive continuous improvement

 

You hold relevant professional qualifications and registration in Allied Health, Nursing or Psychology (as applicable), with the required registrations and endorsements outlined in the supportive documentation below.
