Monash Health is seeking an experienced and motivated Nuclear Medicine Medical Physicist to join our Diagnostic Imaging Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the largest imaging service in Victoria, where you will be part of a dynamic and supportive department. You will have the opportunity to enhance patient care, uphold radiation safety, and further develop your expertise with mentorship from a highly skilled team.  

  

About the Role  

As a Nuclear Medicine Medical Physicist, you will:  

  • Collaborate with Chief Technologists to implement and maintain quality assurance programs. 

  • Stay current with international best practices in Diagnostic Imaging, Nuclear Medicine, PET, and radiation safety. 

  • Support clinical teams in optimising equipment, image processing, analysis, dosimetry, and education. 

  • Contribute to multidisciplinary research. 

  • Assist the Radiation Safety Officer in ensuring compliance with radiation safety regulations. 

  • Support Subspecialty Heads and Chief Technologists in ensuring safe, efficient practices in clinical physics and radiation safety for Nuclear Medicine and PET. 

  

About You  

You are a self-motivated Medical Physicist with a strong understanding in medical imaging and radiation safety. You are ready to contribute to a high-performing team and meet the following requirements:  

  • ACPSEM accredited Medical Physics MSc/PhD, or equivalent. 

  • Registration (or eligible to register) with the ACPSEM register of Qualified Medical Physics Specialists. 

  • Eligible for Victorian Radiation Use Licence. 

  • ACPSEM Certification in Diagnostic Imaging Medical Physics (Nuclear Medicine). 

  • Eligible for Victorian approval for radiation dose estimates in research trials. 

  • Programming skills (e.g., Python) and scientific writing experience are desirable.
