About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker (Grade 2) to join our multidisciplinary team at the Dandenong HOPE Service. This is a full-time position offering a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals experiencing mental health challenges.

 

As a Mental Health Clinician, you will work in close collaboration with our community partner, BPA, supporting their team of HOPE Support Coordinators in delivering the psychosocial aspects of care. Your role will involve:

 

  • Conducting comprehensive bio-psycho-social assessments.
  • Undertaking clinical mental state and risk assessments.
  • Facilitating escalations of care when appropriate (e.g., to CATT, PARC, inpatient units).
  • Participating in weekly multidisciplinary clinical reviews.
  • Delivering brief therapeutic interventions such as psychoeducation, coping strategies, or single-session family work.
  • Contributing to the development of collaborative safety and support plans.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation.

 

Client engagement may occur in a variety of settings including the community, the client’s home, the BPA office, or via telehealth. This position is open to Social Work, Occupational Therapy and Nursing disciplines.

The Dandenong HOPE Service is a recovery-focused program supporting individuals at risk of suicide and self-harm. Our team includes both clinical and non-clinical staff working in partnership to provide integrated and person-centred care. We pride ourselves on our collaborative, multidisciplinary approach and strong community partnerships that help us support individuals in their recovery journey. 

 

About You 

 

We are looking for a qualified Social Worker (Grade 2) who is passionate about mental health care and committed to supporting recovery-oriented services. You will bring:

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work and eligibility for AASW membership.
  • Experience in clinical mental health assessment and risk management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and in partnership with external providers like BPA.
  • A client-centred approach with a focus on collaboration, engagement, and holistic care planning.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of clinical documentation and care coordination.
  • A valid drivers licence.
