Moorabbin Hospital - Permanent Part Time - Approx. 5-6 day shifts per fortnight
About the HIS Team and the Role
Health Information Services (HIS) at the Moorabbin Hospital is looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated and experienced Administration officer to join our fantastic teams at Moorabbin Hospital Main Reception and Admissions Department. You will be responsible for ensuring the patient experience is second to none and patients are treated with respect and dignity while seeking the support and services of Monash Health. Creating an excellent first impression of Monash Health, you will provide a friendly, courteous and professional greeting to all patients and visitors.
About You
In this Admissions/Customer Service administrative role your primary responsibilities will include:
- Provide a friendly, courteous and professional greeting to all visitors/patients.
- Answer and assist incoming callers in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner at all times
- Maintain a high level of customers exceptional customer service both face-to-face and over the phone;
- Complete and ensure accurate data entry when admitting and updating patient details on the Patient administrative system (iPM), and other data entry and administrative duties as required (as outlined on the attached PD)
Operating Hours
The Moorabbin Hospital - HIS Customer Service and Admissions Department is located at the Main Reception with operational hours between 7am and 8pm.
Staff may also be required to travel to other Monash Health sites.
About You
We are seeking people to join our patient-focused team who possess the following:
- A passion for providing exceptional customer service
- Administrative experience in a Health related field will be looked upon favourably as well as the completion of a medical terminology course.
- Experienced using the Patient Administration system iPM or similar
- Have a passion and are able to learn new systems and processes quickly
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrate interpersonal understanding by demonstrating empathy and sensitivity to feelings of others.
- Be self-motivated and committed to self-improvement.
- A positive approach to a frequently changing environment.
- Flexibility in availability, rostering and working hours is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to complete tasks in timely manner
- Is a team player
- Searching for long term part time employment
