About the Role:
Join our team as a Music Therapist on a part time (0.4EFT / 30.4 hrs per fortnight) fixed-term (12 months) basis to work at Monash Children’s Hospital, Clayton, with travel to other Monash Health sites as required.
This is an exciting opportunity to step into a Senior Clinical position, contributing to the leadership, development, and delivery of high-quality Music Therapy services within a paediatric and neonatal context. As a Grade 3 Music Therapist, you will play a key role in supervising and supporting the music therapy team while maintaining a clinical caseload and driving service innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver advanced, evidence-based Music Therapy interventions for paediatric and/or neonatal patients and their families
• Provide clinical leadership within the music therapy service, including supervision and support of Grade 2 and Grade 1 clinicians and students
• Lead or contribute to quality improvement, service development, research, and teaching initiatives
• Work collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient and family experiences and outcomes
• Support credentialing, orientation, and performance development activities across the music therapy team
• Promote best practice and service innovation aligned with Monash Health’s strategic priorities

About You:
To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:
- Advanced clinical knowledge and experience in paediatric and/or neonatal settings
- Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise and support team members
- Skills in service development, research, and/or teaching
- A collaborative and compassionate approach to patient care
- Strong clinical reasoning and communication skills
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and quality improvement
What you need:
- Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Music Therapy from an approved training course
- Eligible for current membership and registration with the Australian Music Therapy Association (AMTA) Inc.
- Current ARIA Music Therapist Copyright & Reproduction licence
- At least 5 years of relevant clinical experience
- Experience supervising junior staff and/or students
