About the Role

The Network Engineer will support the implementation, and maintenance of Monash Health’s network infrastructure. This role will be responsible for responding to Level 2 operational tickets, troubleshooting network issues, and assisting with network performance monitoring. Additionally, the position will contribute to project work, ensuring secure and reliable connectivity across all sites. This role provides an opportunity to develop hands-on experience with enterprise networking technologies while supporting both day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives.

Key result areas

• Ensuring support tickets are managed promptly and closed off with appropriate levels of documentation.
• Providing exceptional customer service including clear and professional communication.
• Assist the team with solution planning, architecture, development, and delivery of Cisco system products.
• Perform installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of Cisco Collaboration and network system.
• Prioritise and make decisions regarding technical solutions based on policy and operational guidelines.
• Develop and maintain a customer-focused culture and contribute to a friendly and cooperative working environment, fostering strong working relationships with all colleagues to deliver quality outcomes.
• Assist in developing and maintaining network automation scripts and workflows using Python.
• Assist in maintaining documentation for network automation processes and procedures.
• Ability to prioritise and make decisions regarding technical solutions based on policy and operation guidelines.

About you

Qualifications/registrations/licences (italics indicate desirable)

• Tertiary and/or Industry Qualifications in relevant field
• Industry Certifications relating to service delivery methodologies (such as ITIL)

Technical skills/knowledge/experience

• Basic understanding of networking concepts e.g. tcp/ip,Vlans,DHCP,DNS,SNMP.
• Exposure to network automation tools such as Python scripting.
• Basic knowledge of cloud networking is advantageous.
• Basic knowledge of Cisco voice and networking systems.
• Experience in documentation, problem-solving skills.
