About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Diabetes Nurse Manager to provide operational and clinical leadership to the Monash Health Diabetes Nurse Education team on a full-time ongoing basis.

Key areas of accountability include:

  •  The Diabetes Nurse Manager leads and manages the Diabetes Clinical Nurse Consultant team at Monash Medical Centre, Moorabbin Hospital, Victoria Heart Hospital, Dandenong Hospital, Casey Hospital, Cranbourne Community Hospital and Kingston Centre, inclusive of all human resource requirements and strategic service direction
  •  Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to drive safe, efficient and high-quality patient care through strong leadership and best practice
  •  Champion quality, safety and continuous improvement in Diabetes Education service delivery.
  •  Support workforce planning, recruitment, education and development to build a resilient and engaged team.
  •  Foster a positive, inclusive and high-performing team culture.

 

About Us:

The Diabetes Unit is a large multidisciplinary unit covering 6 Monash Health sites (Clayton, Dandenong, Casey, Moorabbin, Kingston and Cranbourne), integrating with Community Health and local General Practitioner Divisions. The aim is to provide integrated, transitional care across the community to acute sector continuum. Diabetes management is primarily focused on the ambulatory care setting and the unit now has 21 ambulatory care services and 5 in-patient services across all ages and support needs

Our Diabetes Education team is passionate, highly skilled and committed to delivering exceptional patient care every day.

 

About You:

You are a passionate Nurse leader ready to take the next step in your leadership journey. With a strong clinical background and a collaborative leadership style, you are committed to delivering excellent patient outcomes while supporting and inspiring your team.

To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:

 

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1).
  • Certificate of Diabetes Education (ADEA accredited)
  • Credentialled Diabetes Educator with a minimum of 3 years’ experience post credentialing
  • Extensive Diabetes Education nursing experience with proven leadership or management capability.
  • Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • A demonstrated ability to lead change, influence stakeholders and build engaged teams.
