An extraordinary leadership opportunity awaits at Australia’s first dedicated heart hospital. We are seeking an experienced and visionary Nurse Manager to lead our busy Cardiac Theatre and Central Sterilising Services Department (CSSD) at the forefront of cardiac care.

About the Role

As Nurse Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across a high‑acuity Cardiac Theatre service and an integrated CSSD unit that supports complex, life‑saving procedures. You will lead multidisciplinary teams in a fast‑paced environment, ensuring exceptional clinical standards, seamless patient flow, and a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage Cardiac Theatre and CSSD services to deliver safe, high‑quality, evidence‑based care
  • Drive operational efficiency, workforce planning, and service innovation in a demanding clinical environment
  • Foster a positive, engaged, and high‑performing nursing workforce
  • Ensure compliance with professional, regulatory, and accreditation standards
  • Partner with medical, perioperative, and executive stakeholders to support service growth and excellence
  • Champion education, research, and continuous quality improvement initiatives

About You

You are a dynamic and experienced nursing leader who thrives in complexity and is motivated by the opportunity to shape services in a highly specialised setting. You will bring:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Significant senior nursing leadership experience within perioperative and/or cardiac services
  • Strong operational, financial, and people‑management capabilities
  • Demonstrated experience leading change and service improvement
  • Excellence in communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement
  • A passion for innovation, learning, and developing future nursing leaders
