About the Clinical Informatics (Nursing & Midwifery Informatics) Team
We:
- Provide Nursing and Midwifery focus and expertise to Digital Health Informatics leadership across all Clinical Information systems including the EMR; ensuring system and workflow designs are clinically fit for purpose;
- Liaise between clinical (practice) and digital and information solutions teams;
- Advise on adoption, change and training; and
- Ensure the Digital Health vision and plan is met.
About the Role:
- Work within the broader Clinical Informatics team to deliver the right digital health solutions to clinical problems and to improve clinical workflows.
- Requirements gathering and analysis to implement a Nursing and Midwifery Informatics optimisation plan
- Analyse system use and adherence to scope of practice
- Contributes to the Nursing and Midwifery Informatics education and professional development
- Work with the Digital Health Training and Adoption team to support Nurse/Midwife Managers and Nurses and Midwives to continually improve use of Clinical Information Systems and Digital Capability
- Evaluate new and innovative technologies, practice requirements and associated workflows to manage optimisation requests.
- Ensure optimisation work aligns to profession specific and Digital Health strategy requirements
- Demonstrate confidence in using technology to assist with leading clinical change activities, provide leadership and development of training materials to support the workforce.
Specific key criteria:
- Registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
- Proficient or expert level proficiency working in a Nursing or Midwifery role within the hospital environment
- Met or exceed the formative level of the National Nursing and Midwifery Digital Health Capability Framework
- Have post graduate education in Nursing, digital health, informatics, or other relevant areas
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as a passion for using technology to improve processes and workflows
- Experience with EMR and/or other clinical information systems
- Proven ability to support Digital Health innovation and Nursing and Midwifery teams
