About the Role
Join our team as a Grade 2 Occupational Therapist on a part time (48 hours per fortnight), fixed term basis until May 2026. This position will be based at Monash Medical Centre in Clayton.
In consultation with the PARCS MDT, the incumbent will be responsible for the provision of an effective Occupational Therapy service to inpatients of the Clayton PARCS and Mental Health Program. The position will utilise group and individual programmes, including Occupational Therapy specific assessments and interventions. The position will provide leadership to the Grade 1 OT and represent Occupational Therapy at a broader program level.
About Us
PARCS has 10 beds and offers a short-term stay (2-4 weeks) focussed on assisting consumers to meet their identified recovery goals. Referrals are received from inpatient units, community teams as well as external stakeholders (consumer/family/GP/Private mental health practitioners). The successful applicant will provide clinical and recovery-oriented care to consumers in a community mental health residential setting. The PARCS service is operated in partnership with an NGO – Well Ways. The model for PARCS sees a strong commitment for Monash Health and the NGO staff to work together in providing seamless recovery-oriented care to consumers during their stay.
About You
You are a dedicated and experienced Occupational Therapist with advanced clinical skills in assessment, intervention, case management, and discharge planning across a variety of care settings. You are passionate about delivering person-centred care and apply contemporary evidence-based practice to support health and wellbeing through meaningful occupation.
You thrive in complex service environments and are confident navigating systems such as My Aged Care, NDIS, mental health services, and the Statewide Equipment Program. You bring emerging leadership capabilities, actively contribute to quality improvement initiatives, and enjoy mentoring junior staff and students. Your approach to care is culturally responsive, ethically sound, and digitally proficient.
You’re looking to make a meaningful impact in a supportive, multidisciplinary team while continuing to grow your professional capabilities and contribute to a culture of excellence.
- Bachelor of Occupational Therapist or Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) or equivalent.
- Current general registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) – Occupational Therapy, with no restrictions (cannot have a non-practising registration)
