About the Role

We have an opportunity for a dynamic Grade 2 Occupational Therapist with a passion for acute inpatient care. Based at Monash Medical Centre Clayton, within the General Medicine stream, this permanent full-time position is part of our large, supportive acute OT team, delivering services across both Clayton and Moorabbin sites.

 

You will work collaboratively with passionate occupational therapy and allied health professionals to deliver evidence-based, high-quality care for patients and their families across medical and surgical units. As part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment, your role will involve comprehensive assessment, timely interventions, and effective discharge planning.

 

We provide a strong professional support structure including clinical supervision, development pathways, and regular professional learning, with opportunities to participate in quality improvement and research initiatives.

About You

You are a qualified and passionate Occupational Therapist with experience in acute settings—particularly general medicine, frail aged care, and/or surgical caseloads. You thrive in a collaborative team environment and are motivated by improving patient experiences and outcomes.

 

We are looking for someone who can:

 

  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centred care in acute inpatient settings
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and clinical reasoning
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Engage in clinical teaching, supervision, and mentoring of junior staff
  • Contribute to service improvement and resource development
  • Show commitment to personal and professional growth

 

To be considered, you must have:

 

  • Current Occupational Therapy qualification as per the atttached supporting documentation and AHPRA registration
  • Eligibility for membership with a relevant professional association
  • Demonstrated experience in an acute hospital setting
  • Interest in evidence-based practice, quality initiatives, and service development
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
