About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Grade 2 Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join our team on a part-time (0.6 EFT), fixed-term basis until January 2027. Based primarily at Monash Children's Hospital, Clayton, this role will support the delivery of Occupational Therapy services across the Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation Service (VPRS), with occasional travel to other sites as required.

Working within an interdisciplinary team, you will provide specialist rehabilitation services to children and adolescents recovering from major illness, injury, or elective procedures. You will deliver evidence-based, family-centred care that supports participation in everyday activities and helps children achieve their rehabilitation goals.

The role provides the opportunity to work with a diverse paediatric caseload, including children with cerebral palsy, acquired brain injury, spinal injuries, functional neurological disorder, chronic fatigue syndrome, and other complex rehabilitation needs. You will undertake comprehensive assessments, develop and implement tailored intervention programs, prescribe equipment where required, and contribute to therapy groups aligned with the VPRS model of care.

You will also play an important role in building strong partnerships with families, schools, community services, and multidisciplinary colleagues to support positive outcomes for children and their families.

About Us

The Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation Service (VPRS) is a statewide specialist service which caters for the complex rehabilitation needs of children and adolescents after major injury, medical illness, and congenital conditions who undergo interventions aimed at functional maximisation.  VPRS has 8 sites Eastern Health, Bendigo Health, Barwon Health, Ballart Health, Goulbourn Valley Health, Latrobe Regional Hospital and at The Royal Children’s Hospital.  VPRS utilises a child and adolescent specific interdisciplinary care model according to best practice and will assist in delivering hospital, community- and home-based services.  The service has a key role in providing long-term specialist follow-up clinics and ensuring transition to adult-based services where required.
