About the Role
Come join our dedicated and dynamic team at the Monash Health Occupational Therapy department across Monash Medical Centre, Victorian Heart Hospital and Moorabbin Hospital and make a difference in facilitating people’s participation in everyday occupations.

This position will cover acute specialty medicine units. The Grade 2 Occupational Therapist is a leader on the wards and is an integral part of the supportive MDT that conducts high quality assessments and intervention helping achieve prompt discharges. Occupational Performance assessment and intervention is at the core of what we provide to patients to ensure robust discharges. This position requires highly developed communication and teamwork skills and an ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

The acute Occupational Therapy Department is an integral part of the wider Allied Health and ward multidisciplinary team. You will work collaboratively with staff who are inclusive, passionate and share a vision to provide excellent, evidence-based care for patients and their families/carers. You will be part of the wider Monash Health Occupational Therapy service, with access to all the benefits that a large health services offers including professional development, supervision, and broad and specialised clinical learning experience.
About You
You are an experienced clinician with a strong background in delivering high-quality clinical services to patients in an acute hospital setting, including those within specialty medicine and surgical populations. Passionate about enhancing patient experiences and facilitating occupational performance, you bring a person-centred approach to your work. You demonstrate skill in teaching, supervision, and fostering the growth and development of others, while maintaining a strong commitment to your own ongoing learning and professional development.
With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you build effective relationships across multidisciplinary teams and with patients alike. Your clinical leadership will extend to supervising Grade 1 therapists and students, guiding them in their early career steps. You will support the Senior Clinician of the acute stream in evaluating and developing processes for the OT department and the acute stream and contribute to an evidence-based service delivery for OT services.
