About the Role

Join our team as an Occupational Therapist (Grade 3) within Adult Mental Health on a full time, fixed term basis until May 2026. This position is to work at Monash Medical Centre based at Clayton.

In this role, you will work within the multi-disciplinary team and be accountable for the provision of effective Occupational Therapy services to consumers, carers and the community using assessments and individual and group interventions.

  • Work independently to deliver evidence-based assessment, therapeutic care, and discharge planning that supports recovery and wellbeing.
  • Provide specialist advice and guidance to colleagues to enhance person-centred mental health care.
  • Support a caseload of consumers through assertive outreach, delivering occupation-based interventions in everyday settings (e.g. home management, budgeting, community participation, and work or study engagement).
  • Collaborate with carers, families, and NDIS staff to strengthen discharge planning and build capacity for recovery.
  • Conduct cognitive and functional assessments, developing compensatory and sensory modulation strategies to support self-regulation and daily participation.
  • Complete home assessments to identify risks and recommend modifications that promote safety, independence, and engagement.
