About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for a Grade 3 Occupational Therapist to join the VicFAS Regional Team at Monash Children’s Hospital on a part time (0.1 FTE), fixed term basis until June 2027. This role will see you supporting the assessment of children aged 3–10 years with prenatal alcohol exposure and broader neurodevelopmental concerns, including FASD.
You will deliver high-quality occupational therapy assessments (including BOT-3), work closely with children and families, and contribute to multidisciplinary diagnostic clinics in line with the Australian FASD Diagnostic Guidelines (2025). The role also involves contributing to diagnostic reports, family feedback sessions, team education, and ongoing research-informed practice.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Participate in multidisciplinary FASD diagnostic clinics (training supported)
- Conduct comprehensive OT assessments for children aged 3–10
- Review clinical histories and previous assessments
- Contribute to diagnostic reports and care recommendations
- Provide clear, compassionate feedback to families
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and data
- Support service development through evidence-based practice and research
About You
You are an experienced paediatric OT with strong assessment skills and a collaborative approach. Knowledge of FASD is highly desirable.
- Qualification in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent)
- Current AHPRA registration (no restrictions)
- Membership with Occupational Therapy Australia
