About the Role
Join our team as a Grade 3 Occupational Therapist within the Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation Service (VPRS) on a part time, fixed term basis until June 2026. This position will work from the Monash Medical Centre in Clayton.
In this role, you will provide specialist clinical care in an interdisciplinary model to children and adolescents requiring rehabilitation after major illness, injury or elective procedure. You will ensure a best-practice approach to the delivery of rehabilitation, focussing on the child’s needs in the context of everyday activities and lifetime opportunities; maximising operational effectiveness; developing organisational competencies; and creating strong partnerships within and outside Monash Health. This position will assisting in developing Occupational Therapy services across VPRS, and there may be a requirement to travel to other sites.
About Us
The Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation Service (VPRS) is a statewide specialist service which caters for the complex rehabilitation needs of children and adolescents after major injury, medical illness, and congenital conditions who undergo interventions aimed at functional maximisation. VPRS has 8 sites Eastern Health, Bendigo Health, Barwon Health, Ballart Health, Goulbourn Valley Health, Latrobe Regional Hospital and at The Royal Children’s Hospital. VPRS utilises a child and adolescent specific interdisciplinary care model according to best practice and will assist in delivering hospital, community- and home-based services. The service has a key role in providing long-term specialist follow-up clinics and ensuring transition to adult-based services where required.
About You
You are an experienced Grade 3 Occupational Therapist with specialist skills in paediatric rehabilitation and a passion for family-centred, evidence-based care. You bring strong clinical reasoning and leadership capabilities, thrive in interdisciplinary teams, and are committed to supporting children and adolescents with complex rehabilitation needs to maximise participation and lifelong outcomes. You enjoy supervising and mentoring others, contributing to service development, and working collaboratively across health, education and community settings.
Qualification and licence requirements include:
- A relevant Occupational Therapy qualification (post grade qualifications are desirable)
