Team Lead - Oncology Research

 

Are you a Research Nurse looking for a leadership challenge or looking to further develop your career in Clinical Trials and Breast Cancer Research? 

 

Ready to take the plunge and lead a team of Research nurses and coordinators in managing industry collaborative and investigator clinical trials in the specialist area of Breast Cancer? 

 

The role is both hands on and patient facing as well as administrative and managerial, all with a strong communication  links to Specialist Breast  Oncologists, Nurse Practitioners, Fellows, as well as Breast Cancer Research Groups, and the Clinical Trials Unit.

About the Role: 

 

Join our team as an Oncology Research Clinical Trials Team Lead (breast) in a full time, ongoing role to work at Monash Health based at Clayton. This role includes:

 

  • Leading the breast cancer trials team to ensure trials are run effectively, efficiently and in line with local, national and international guidelines

  • Contributing to the team by both directly coordinating clinical trials, and overseeing the work of other study coordinators and administrators within the breast team

  • Working with other team leads and senior management.

The role is full time, (Monday to Friday 8am-4:30pm) but a minimum of 0.8 may be considered. 

 

About Us: 

 

Oncology Research at Monash Health is divided into 6 tumour streams of study coordinators, research nurses and administrative staff, with each having a Team Lead. The department has approximately 200 open studies at any one time, including both commercially sponsored and collaborative group run trials.  

 

About You:  

 

To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge: 

 

  • APHRA Nursing registration / Nursing Degree or equivalent Science degree

  • At least 3 years of clinical trials experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft and IT systems

  • Oncology/ Haematology post graduate qualification is desirable, but at a minimum chemotherapy administration experience, or relevant applicable knowledge and or experience in this field.
