About the Role    

Monash Health is seeking an experienced and visionary Operations Manager to lead excellence across our clinical and operational services. This senior leadership role plays a crucial part in delivering high-quality, person-centred care while ensuring teams achieve performance, quality, and budgetary goals within the Monash Health governance framework. 

 

Reporting to the Operations Director/Director of Nursing – Surgery and Anaesthesia, the successful candidate will provide strong strategic, clinical, and operational leadership across perioperative services at three Monash Health sites: Monash Medical Centre (MMC), Monash Children's Hospital (MCH) and Moorrabbin Hospital. You will foster a culture of engagement, collaboration, and innovation, driving continuous improvement in service delivery and patient care. 

 

In this role, you will oversee service planning, resource allocation, and performance management, ensuring alignment with Monash Health’s strategic objectives and core values. Your strategic mindset and innovative approach will be key in developing and implementing new models of care, enhancing efficiency, and improving patient outcomes. 

 

Exceptional stakeholder management skills are essential, as you will build and sustain productive partnerships across Monash Health and with external collaborators to achieve shared goals and advance organisational success. 

 

Specifically, you will:  

  • Partner with the Surgical Leadership team to provide safe and quality care with exemplary clinical outcomes and patient experience 

  • Ensuring compliance with Australian College of Perioperative Nurses (ACORN) Guidelines, AS5369 and the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards 

  • Ensuring compliance with Infection Prevention and Control policies and procedures within perioperative services 

  • Lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of perioperative services  

  • Develop and implement innovative models of care  

  • Build collaborative relationships with internal teams and external partners, including the Department of Health  

  • Drive performance, safety, and quality outcomes 

  • Manage resources, budgets, and workforce development  

  • Promote a culture of excellence, innovation, and person-centred care   

This is a full-time, permanent position based on-site at Monash Children’s Hospital (MCH) and  operates during normal business hours, Monday to Friday.  Travel between Monash Health sites will be required and a current Victorian driver’s licence is a mandatory requirement for this role.  

 

About You   

Holding tertiary qualifications (Ideally master’s degree or higher) in nursing/midwifery, medicine, allied health or a health management related field, you can demonstrate previous success in a management role, leading teams and managing complex services.  

You’re a strategic and innovative leader with a deep understanding of perioperative services and a passion for improving access and outcomes. You build strong relationships, inspire collaboration, and drive continuous improvement.
