About the Role
We're looking for motivated and customer-focused Environmental Services Assistants to join our teams in a casual capacity across Monash Health.
The Environmental Services Assistant is responsible for delivering high-quality cleaning and support services within both clinical and non-clinical environments. The role contributes to maintaining a safe, hygienic and comfortable environment for patients, residents, visitors and staff through the delivery of cleaning, waste management and linen services.
As part of our workforce, you will:

Perform scheduled and unscheduled cleaning of clinical and non-clinical areas.

Clean patient rooms, bathrooms, toilets and communal areas.

Undertake waste and hard rubbish collection and removal.
-
Collect, distribute and transport linen across healthcare facilities.
-
Collect and distribute sharps containers in line with safety procedures.
-
Operate commercial cleaning equipment and support services machinery where required.
-
Follow infection prevention, cleaning and workplace safety procedures.
-
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation across assigned areas.
-
Provide courteous and professional service to patients, visitors and staff.

Work collaboratively with clinical and support services teams to achieve ward and department outcomes.

About You
You are a reliable, adaptable and customer-focused individual who takes pride in maintaining clean, safe and welcoming environments.
To be successful, you will bring:

12 months demonstrated experience in cleaning, environmental services, hospitality or customer service environments.

Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Commitment to quality, safety and infection prevention practices.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
-
A respectful and compassionate approach when working around patients and residents.
-
Basic to intermediate computer skills.
-
Ability to undertake physical work, including lifting, carrying and manual handling activities.
-
Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices.
-
Flexibility and adaptability across different healthcare environment.
-
Current Employee Working with Children Check.
Desirable:
-
Certificate III in Cleaning Operations.
-
Certificate III in Health Services Assistance.
-
NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain.
-
Current Victorian Driver Licence.
-
Previous experience within healthcare, aged care, hospitality or commercial cleaning environments.
