We also aim to support and educate each other in a collegial and collaborative culture.  The unit provides infectious diseases care to a population of approximately 1.3 million, making it one of the largest services in Australia.  Key clinical and research areas include: clinical infectious diseases, antimicrobial stewardship, infections in immunocompromised populations, mycobacterial infections and care for patients with HIV.
