About the Role
Join Monash Health as a Grade 2 Pharmacist in our Registrar Training Program: Geriatric Medicine. This full-time, two-year structured program is designed to advance your practice from an ANZCAP-recognised Resident Pharmacist to a Registrar Pharmacist, with a focus on geriatric medicine and rehabilitation.
As part of this nationally recognised pathway, you’ll rotate across Monash Health sites, working within multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centred pharmacy services. You’ll gain deep expertise in geriatric care, contribute to research and quality improvement, and be supported by experienced mentors and educators.
This is a unique opportunity to specialise in a growing area of healthcare, while building advanced clinical, operational, and leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilties:
- Deliver safe, evidence-based pharmacy services to older adults across inpatient and outpatient settings
- Participate in structured learning activities and complete a quality improvement or research project
- Collaborate with medical, nursing, and allied health professionals to optimise medication management
- Rotate through rehabilitation, aged care, and other relevant clinical areas
- Provide education to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals
- Contribute to policy development, mentoring, and continuous improvement initiatives

About You
You’re a hospital pharmacist with 3–7 years of experience, ready to deepen your expertise in geriatric medicine. You’re collaborative, curious, and committed to improving patient outcomes through advanced practice, education, and research.
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- Current AHPRA registration as a pharmacist
- ANZCAP Resident-level experience or equivalent
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in interprofessional teams
- A commitment to education, research, and quality improvement
- Desirable: postgraduate qualifications, clinical supervision training, and research experience
