About the Role
Join Monash Health as a Grade 2 Pharmacist in our Medication Safety Registrar Training Program. This full-time, two-year structured program is designed to advance your practice from an ANZCAP-recognised Resident Pharmacist to a Registrar Pharmacist, with a specialised focus on medication safety and quality use of medicines.
You’ll work across Monash Health sites to identify, analyse, and reduce medication-related risks, contributing to safer systems and better patient outcomes. Through structured rotations, mentorship, and research opportunities, you’ll develop advanced skills in clinical governance, safety improvement, and inter-professional collaboration.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality pharmacy services with a focus on medication safety and adverse reaction management
- Participate in structured learning activities and complete a quality improvement or research project
- Collaborate with clinical teams to optimise medication use and reduce harm
- Contribute to policy development, incident review, and safety reporting
- Rotate through clinical and operational areas across Monash Health sites
- Provide education to staff and patients on safe medication practices

About You
You’re a hospital pharmacist with 3–7 years of experience, passionate about improving medication safety. You’re analytical, collaborative, and committed to advancing pharmacy practice through education, research, and system improvement.
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- Current AHPRA registration as a pharmacist
- ANZCAP Resident-level experience or equivalent
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in interprofessional teams
- A commitment to education, research, and quality improvement
- Desirable: postgraduate qualifications, clinical supervision training, and research experience
