Monash Health Pharmacy is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician Development Lead to drive workforce development initiatives that strengthen capability, career progression and the future of our pharmacy technician workforce.

 

This is an exciting opportunity to combine leadership, education, workforce development and innovation to make a meaningful impact across a large health service.

 

About the Department / Program
Monash Health Pharmacy is a diverse and dynamic team of over 500 professionals. We work across seven hospitals and community settings, delivering best-practice pharmacy services and supporting career development through structured rotations, mentoring, and leadership opportunities.   

 

About the Role

Join our Pharmacy team as the Pharmacy Technician Development Lead in this full-time ongoing opportunity, with part-time applications considered.

 

Working with the Pharmacy Leadership, Workforce and Education teams, you will lead initiatives that build capability, strengthen career pathways and support the future pharmacy technician workforce.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Lead pharmacy technician workforce development and career pathway initiatives.
  • Coordinate and evaluate education, training and professional development programs.
  • Develop competency frameworks and resources supporting advanced practice and career progression.
  • Coordinate Certificate III and IV pharmacy technician pathways.
  • Develop and maintain a pharmacy technician education and credentialling framework.
  • Provide expert workforce development advice to Pharmacy leaders and committees.
  • Lead projects focused on workforce redesign, innovation and service development.
  • Build workforce pipelines through student engagement, education partnerships and recruitment initiatives.
  • Develop strong partnerships with education providers and professional organisations.
  • Monitor and report on outcomes, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

 

About You:

You are a passionate workforce development professional who enjoys developing people, building partnerships and turning ideas into meaningful outcomes.

 

You will have:

  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and decision-making skills.
  • Experience in education, training, supervision and/or workforce development.
  • Excellent relationship-building and collaboration skills.
  • Experience leading projects, working groups and initiatives from concept through to implementation.
  • A proactive, innovative and solutions-focused approach.
  • Experience in hospital pharmacy or a relevant pharmacy environment.
  • A commitment to education, professional development and continuous improvement.
  • Research, quality improvement or service development experience is desirable.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing needs.

 

You will also have one of the following:

  • Registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia/AHPRA, with relevant postgraduate qualifications highly desirable; or
  • Certificate IV in Hospital/Health Services Pharmacy Support or equivalent, together with a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or
  • Advanced Pharmacy Australia membership.
