About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Hospital Pharmacy Technician to lead the Procurement Pharmacy Technician team in a supportive environment. You will lead the team and provide oversight, support and performance enhancement for employees allocated to your area.
This is a Full Time Permanent Position working across all Monash Health sites.
A Day in the Life
As the Grade 4 Pharmacy Procurement Technician Team Leader, you will lead and support the pharmacy technician to provide best-practice practice pharmacy procurement services. You’ll provide supervision, training and mentoring to other pharmacy procurement technicians.
In collaboration with Pharmacy Leadership Team and Pharmacy Formulary Team Leader, you will be responsible for managing cost effective and sustainable procurement activities of pharmaceuticals.
In this important role, you will:
- Oversee day-to-day functions; including purchasing and receiving pharmaceuticals and processing of pharmacy invoices
- Lead and support the pharmacy technician procurement team to provide best-practice pharmacy services to patients, carers, clients and health care professionals
- Collaborate with the Pharmacy Leadership Team and Formulary Team Leader to formulate proactive strategies to mitigate the risks of medication shortages
- Undertake administrative and procedural tasks associated with the day-to-day planning and rostering of the Pharmacy Procurement Service
- Assist the Pharmacy Leadership Team with oversight of procurement key performance indicators and end-of-month activities across all pharmacy sites
- Work collaboratively with pharmacy team members and other staff in the delivery of pharmacy services.
- Participate in quality assurance programs/improvement activities and medication safety activities.

About You
You have significant pharmacy procurement experience in a hospital setting and the ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and accountability across all general pharmacy technician tasks.
You have skills and experience in supervision, training or mentoring. You are organised, lead by example and role-model expectations to others. Your positive approach is infectious and people enjoy working with you.
You must hold a Certificate IV in Hospital/Health Services Pharmacy Support, or equivalent.
