About the Role:
The Physiotherapy team at Monash Children’s Hospital is excited to offer an opportunity for a Grade 2 or 3 Paediatric Physiotherapist to join our team in a full-time, fixed-term role until November 2026. Part-time applicants may also be considered.
In this position you will be responsible for:
- Delivering high-quality critical care physiotherapy services to infants and children admitted to paediatric intensive care and acute wards within Monash Children’s Hospital
- Delivering inpatient services to ward based infants and children across a variety of clinical areas. This may include oncology, general medicine, general surgery, respiratory, orthopaedics, neurological physiotherapy, and supporting the delivery of home based care via Monash Children’s at Home
In addition as a Grade 3 you will be responsible for:
- Providing specialist paediatric critical care clinical knowledge in the field of the paediatric physiotherapy
- Leading the clinical service delivery of the acute inpatient physiotherapy team with support from the physiotherapy profession leads
- Co-ordinating the after-hours and weekend services, and leading the education to both physiotherapy and multidisciplinary colleagues in the physiotherapy management of paediatric critical care patients
In addition to providing high-quality intervention, this role will provide teaching and training to junior physiotherapists, allied health assistants and students, as well as collaborate with community and regional colleagues to facilitate flow and discharge services.
This role will involve participation in an after-hours service roster, including a weekend/public holiday roster, as well as a late shift roster.

We have Victoria’s largest Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and provide leading paediatric services in many areas including Rehabilitation & Oncology. Physiotherapy at Monash Children’s Hospital provides specialised services to paediatric patients across the continuum including inpatients, outpatients and via Hospital in the Home.

- You’re enthusiastic about collaborating within a multidisciplinary team
- You’re eager to grow your clinical skills, expand your knowledge, and support the development of others
What you need:
- A relevant Physiotherapy qualification
- Current unconditional AHPRA registration
- Significant physiotherapy clinical experience
- Experience in the management of paediatric critical care and respiratory patients
- Leadership and/or service development experience
- Experience in teaching, and education
- Current Victorian Driver’s licence (or equivalent)
