About the Role:

Join our team as a Physiotherapist Grade 2 on a full-time basis based at the Monash Children’s Hospital.  

Part-time and full-time applicants may be considered.

 

In this position you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering inpatient services to ward based infants and children across a variety of clinical areas. This will include oncology and other areas such as general medicine, general surgery, respiratory, orthopaedics, and neurological physiotherapy
  • Delivering outpatient and post discharge physiotherapy care to complex or long term patients, particularly in the field of paediatric respiratory care  
  • Providing specialist clinical knowledge in the fields of the Paediatric Physiotherapy and supporting the Grade 3/4 physiotherapists to lead the clinical service delivery within the Monash Children’s Hospital physiotherapy team

 

In addition to providing expert intervention, you will provide teaching and training to junior physiotherapists, allied health assistants and students, as well as collaborate with community and regional colleagues to facilitate flow and discharge services.  

Also involving participation in an after-hours service roster. This will include a weekend/public holiday roster, as well as a late shift roster. Training will be provided before commencement on these rosters.

We have Victoria’s largest Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and provide leading paediatric services in many areas including Rehabilitation & Oncology.   Physiotherapy at Monash Children’s Hospital provides specialised services to paediatric patients across the continuum including inpatients, outpatients and via Hospital in the Home.

Mandatory requirements of the role: 

  • A relevant Physiotherapy qualification
  • Current unconditional AHPRA registration
  • Broad range of either paediatric or acute clinical skills that can be easily transferrable to this role 
  • Experience, knowledge and skills in the provision of paediatric physiotherapy services including assessment, intervention, case management and discharge planning in the hospital/community setting
