About the Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Grade 2 Paediatric Physiotherapist to join us on a full-time fixed-term (parental leave cover) basis until November 2026 at the Monash Children’s Hospital. Part-time applicant may also be considered.
In this role, you will:
- Coordinate and lead the physiotherapy inpatient services to ward based infants and children across a variety of clinical areas, including neurology, neurosurgery, adolescent medicine, Paediatric Intensive Care, general medicine, general surgery, respiratory, orthopaedics and oncology
- Deliver outpatient and post discharge physiotherapy care to infants and children discharged home from hospital requiring ongoing physiotherapy support
- Support the delivery of physiotherapy and neurodevelopmental therapy care in the Monash Children’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Special Care Nursery through provision of assessment, education and parent support for infants born prematurely or with complex medical presentations including inpatient and outpatient care at any Monash Health site
- Possibility to support large multisite research projects and initiatives in neonatal field through participation as an assessor for research projects
- Provide specialist clinical knowledge in Paediatric Physiotherapy, collaborating with senior physiotherapists to support best practice clinical service delivery and teaching and training for junior physiotherapists, allied health assistants and students
- Take part in our after-hours service roster, including the weekends/public holidays roster, and the late shift roster (with training provided prior to commencement on these rosters)

Monash Children’s Hospital is one of Australia’s leading providers of integrated children’s health services, with more than 30 specialist services and programs. We have Victoria’s largest Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and provide leading paediatric services in many areas including Rehabilitation & Oncology. Physiotherapy at Monash Children’s Hospital provides specialised services to paediatric patients across the continuum including inpatients, outpatients and via Hospital in the Home.

Mandatory Requirements:
- Bachelor of Physiotherapy (or equivalent qualification)
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) – Physiotherapy Board of Australia (practicing, no restrictions)
- Broad range of either paediatric or acute clinical skills that can be easily transferrable to this role
- Experience, knowledge and skills in the provision of paediatric physiotherapy services including assessment, intervention, case management and discharge planning in the hospital/community setting
- Current Driver’s License
