About Us 

Monash Children’s Hospital is one of Australia’s leading providers of integrated children’s health services, with more than 30 specialist services and programs. We have Victoria’s largest Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and provide leading paediatric services in many areas including Rehabilitation & Oncology.   Physiotherapy at Monash Children’s Hospital provides specialised services to paediatric patients across the continuum including inpatients, outpatients and via Hospital in the Home. 

 

 

About the Role 

Join our dedicated Physiotherapy team as a Grade 2 Paediatric Physiotherapist on a part-time ongoing basis (0.4 EFT / 30.4 hours per fortnight), based at Monash Children’s Hospital. This position sits within the neonatal and neurosciences stream, providing physiotherapy services across neonatal and paediatric settings.

 

In this role, you will provide specialised physiotherapy services to neonates, infants and children at risk of poor neurodevelopmental outcomes across neonatal intensive care, special care nursery, outpatient and follow-up clinic settings. You will deliver high-quality assessment, treatment and care coordination, while supporting families through education, advocacy and connection with community services.

 

Working collaboratively within the Monash Children’s Hospital neurodevelopmental team and our Premier’s Health Care Award-winning Early Neurodevelopmental Clinic, you will contribute specialist knowledge in paediatric neonatology and neurology while supporting service delivery alongside senior physiotherapists.

 

The role also includes opportunities to provide teaching and training to junior staff, students and community clinicians. Participation in an after-hours roster, including weekends, public holidays and late shifts, may be required, with training provided prior to commencement.

 

 

About You

Mandatory requirements: 

  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) or equivalent  
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)  
  • Broad range of either paediatric or acute clinical skills that can be easily transferrable to this role 
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in the provision of paediatric assessments in neonatal  and complex neurological physiotherapy
  • Highly specialised knowledge and skills and significant experience in the provision of neonatal physiotherapy services including assessment, intervention, case management and discharge planning in the hospital/community setting
