About the Role:

We’re looking for a Grade 2 Physiotherapist (PT) to join our team in a locum capacity at Monash Children’s Hospital (MCH). This is a fantastic opportunity to work within one of Australia’s leading paediatric services, making a meaningful difference in the care of children and their families.

What we offer:

  • Casual weekday and weekend shifts
  • Experience in a variety of clinical areas across a premier paediatric hospital
  • The chance to work alongside highly skilled clinicians in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment

Weekday Locum Role:

As a locum paediatric PT at MCH, you will provide short term coverage during periods of vacancy, which may include part-time or full-time blocks of work during the working week of Monday to Friday. Your work will involve PT assessment and intervention with infants, children and adolescents and their families within an acute hospital setting. You will collaborate closely with your multidisciplinary colleagues across the service to enquire high quality consistent and family centred care.

Weekend Locum Role:

The weekend locum position is an autonomous role, working independently as the sole PT on site for the duration of the shift, supporting a range of clinical areas across the MCH programs including the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit. The focus includes on priority referrals mostly including respiratory management and supporting urgent referrals as well as safe and timely weekend discharges. The weekend service runs on Saturday and Sundays from 8.30am for 4-6 hours. Scope to extend the shift exists if it supports clinical care or timely discharge. This role operates on a minimum frequency of once every 4–6 weeks, with rosters released in advance to allow flexibility and choice of shifts.

By joining the MCH Locum Bank you will be considered for casual PT work shifts across MCH. Once registered, you may be contacted when locum work becomes available, depending on service needs across both weekday and weekend rosters. Please indicate in your cover letter whether you are seeking weekday or weekend work and outline your availability.
