About Us:

Monash Health Physiotherapy is a dynamic service with dedicated, highly skilled physiotherapists. In joining us, you will be part of a well-integrated team with an emphasis on positive culture and excellent person-centred multidisciplinary care. As part of Monash Health Physiotherapy, you are an integral part of the wider allied health and ward multidisciplinary teams.  We are committed to working with you to become your professional best. We offer clinical education, training on the job and career progression to enable you to further develop your clinical, leadership, quality improvement and research skills.

About the Role:

Join our team as a Grade 2 Physiotherapist. We currently have two opportunities available:

  • Full-time fixed-term Grade 2 Acute and Complex Care (Special Medicine) Physiotherapist until April 2027 (parental leave backfill)
  • Full-time fixed-term Grade 2 Acute Generalist Physiotherapist (Tuesday-Saturday) until June 2027 (parental leave backfill)

The Grade 2 Acute and Complex Care (Special Medicine) Physiotherapist position sits within the Acute and Complex Care team, which provides physiotherapy services to patients in the General Medicine and Special Medicine Programs, as well as the Emergency Department (secondary contact). This position holds a Special Medicine caseload, primarily in the Renal and Gastromedicine Programs; you’ll use your broad clinical skills to care for inpatients with a range of acute illnesses, chronic diseases and complex discharge planning needs. This role provides valuable clinical, education and service improvement leadership across physiotherapy, allied health and the multidisciplinary care team, driving best-practice person-centred care.

You will be responsible for supervising Grade 1 Physiotherapists, AHAs and undergraduate students. In this role you'll have the opportunity to use and develop diverse clinical skills as well as your people management, leadership, teaching and quality improvement skills. You will be well supported by a large, dynamic and progressive team which includes Grade 4 Acute and Complex Care Stream Leader, Grade 3 Acute & Complex Care Senior Clinicians, Grade 2 colleagues and the site Physiotherapy Manager.

The Grade 2 Acute Generalist Physiotherapist (Tuesday-Saturday) is responsible for providing clinical cover across acute services at Monash Medical Centre Clayton, Moorabbin Hospital, and the Victorian Heart Hospital. In this Tuesday to Saturday role, you'll work across multiple areas with unmatched clinical variety including ICU, surgery, medicine, neurology, mental health, ED and more, as determined by the operational needs of the department. This role provides an opportunity to use and develop broad clinical skills, work with clinical experts in multiple areas of acute physiotherapy, develop junior staff and students as well as contribute to improvement and research activities. You'll be supported by a collaborative physiotherapy team which includes Critical Care and Surgical Services Clinical Leads, many senior physiotherapists, large Generalist Physiotherapy, weekday and weekend workforces and site Physiotherapy Manager.

These positions are a great opportunity for an established Grade 2 Physiotherapist looking to extend themselves in a large tertiary setting, or a Grade 1 Physiotherapist ready to step into a Grade 2 role in a supportive environment.
