About the Role: 

Join our team as a Grade 3 Physiotherapist – Critical Care and Surgical Services, where you will provide advanced clinical expertise across two specialist sites: Victorian Heart Hospital (VHH) and Casey Hospital. Some travel will also be required to other Monash Health sites.

 

We are pleased to offer a part-time, fixed-term opportunity until December 2026. This role will be required to work across both VHH (30.4 hours per fortnight) and Casey Hospital (21.6 hours/fortnight) totalling 52 hours per fortnight (0.68 EFT).  This is a unique opportunity for an experienced clinician with expert knowledge in cardiothoracic physiotherapy and general critical care to lead and deliver best-practice care across complex patient cohorts.

 

You will be expected to manage a highly specialised caseload, including cardiothoracic surgery, cardiac ICU, and general critical care patients, while working across two sites with different workflows and multidisciplinary teams. Providing best practice patient care, achieving maximal operational effectiveness, developing organisational competencies, and creating strong partnerships within and outside Monash Health with support from the Critical Care and Surgical Services Stream Leads.

About You:

To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:

  • Expert clinical knowledge and experience in physiotherapy management of cardiothoracic, general surgical, and ICU patients
  • A strong commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous improvement
  • Excellent clinical reasoning skills and experience in providing clinical education
  • The ability to work autonomously while adapting to two distinct hospital environments and collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Ambition to grow your clinical skills and expand your knowledge
  • A proactive, team-oriented approach
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to support team development and service delivery

 

Mandatory requirements of the role:

  • A relevant physiotherapy qualification
  • Current unconditional AHPRA registration
  • Experience in the management of critically ill, cardiothoracic and surgical patients
