About the Department

Our Radiography team at that work accross Monash Medical Centre and Monash Children's Hospital, deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging services using advanced technology in a fast-paced tertiary healthcare environment. Working alongside a supportive multidisciplinary team, you’ll gain exposure to a broad range of complex and specialised imaging cases across inpatient, outpatient and emergency settings. Join a leading academic health service committed to innovation, professional development and exceptional patient care.

 

About the Role 

A porter in Monash Radiology, works across both Monash Medical Centre and Monash Children’s Hospital in Clayton. This opportunity is for you to provide patient transport and other support to patients, families and other staff. You will be supported by the Chief Radiographer and the Porter Co-ordinator and be part of a dedicated team with special emphasis on providing quality service to our patients and their families. This role includes shift work between 7:30am and midnight, Monday to Sunday including Public Holidays. You will model the values of Monash Health and the culture of Patient and Family Centred Care. You will work within a culture of excellence in service and care to patients and families. 

 

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Work with all Monash Radiology staff to support the day to day running of the department. This will include transport of patients to and from Monash Radioogy and other areas, equipment cleaning, assistance with patient movement and other duties. 

  • To safely and efficiently transport inpatients and ED patients to and from the Monash Radiology modalities. 

  • To accurately and promptly complete all required information on patient movements on the Information system. 

  • To provide assistance to Monash Radiology staff with patient movements/transfers as required. 

  • Ensure safety is maintained for all persons and equipment. 

 

This role will be based at Monash Medical Centre in Clayton. Some duties may extend to the adjacent Monash Children’s Hospital. 

 

About You 

  • Strong commitment and ability to follow standards of excellence in patient care. 

  • An ability to perform physically arduous manual tasks, as needed. 

  • Current Police check and valid Employee Working with Children card.
