• Portfolio Educator - Mental Health

• Part Time Ongoing (0.84 EFT - 4 days per week)

About The Role 

Monash Health is excited to offer an ongoing Part Time (0.84 EFT - 4 days per week), Portfolio Educator position in our Mental Health Program. This role will be predominantly based at Monash Medical Centre although rotation to all sites is expected. This is a clinical leadership position providing education and training to advance the clinical competency of the staff working within the mental health stream.  

• Clinical Leadership role at Monash Health – Nursing and Midwifery Education and Practice Improvement Department 

• Play a key role in the supporting the clinical advancement of all nursing staff

Some of your specific accountabilities will include:  

• Providing contemporary education that promotes best practice standards  

• Pre-Registration student portfolio 

• Provides clinical support to staff of all proficiency levels, novice to expert  

• Demonstrating and promoting best practice standards  

• Helping to ensure that through a highly skilled and educated workforce, our patients receive safe and high quality care  

• Working collaboratively with the leadership team including the multi-disciplinary team  

• Working collaboratively with key stakeholders to develop targeted training programs.  

This is a part-time, ongoing position, working Monday – Friday, business hours. 

About You   

You have been developing your education and leadership skills or you are an accomplished clinician; either way, you are ready to take this next step in your Career. You lead by example, thrive working in a dynamic, fast paced environment and are truly passionate about delivering a high standard of evidence based nursing care to all patients.   

You also have:    

• Current Registration with NMBA;  

• Recent relevant clinical experience in mental health nursing;  

• Excellent communication skills;  

• A sound understanding of clinical supervision, clinical assessment and advanced clinical practice;  

• An understanding of different learning and teaching styles;  

• Experience in clinical education;  

• Completion of or working towards post graduate qualification in mental health nursing and/or education;  

• Australian working rights

• Demonstrated experience (aligned to position description)  

• Current AHPRA registration   

• Include any other mandatory/required skills or licences
