About Us:

 

We deliver nephrology services throughout the south-eastern metropolitan region of Melbourne, extending into Gippsland, across nine sites in five locations. The current staff complement is over 350, including 29 nephrologists, five registrars, five residents and two nurse practitioners. We care for over 2,300 patients and conduct extensive clinical and laboratory research. Both research units are world renowned.

 

Monash Health is one of two hospitals in Australia conducting pancreas transplants for patients living in Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania. Ward 34 is the only ward at Monash to support the work up and post op care of these patients at Monash Health.

 

About the Post Grad Certificate:

 

Join our team in completing the Graduate Certificate of Specialist Nursing Practice (Renal) on a part time (64hrs/fortnight), fixed term (March 2026-March 2027) basis.

 

The course consists of theory and a comprehensive clinical practice placements, with the aim of developing nurse’s skills in Haemodialysis, Peritoneal Dialysis, Renal & Pancreas Transplant as well as problem solving, communication, and research skills.  You will have the opportunity to experience and learn from one of the largest nephrology multi-disciplinary teams in Victoria.

The course consists of four units offered online through ACU. At Monash Health, we provide clinical support and 0.8eft to enable the completion of clinical competencies.

What You Need:

  • Bachelor or Nursing degree or equivalent
  • Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Ability to travel to all rotation sites including MMC, Moorabbin Hospital and Home Therapy Unit at Thomas St in Dandenong.
  • Ability to work a Monday-Sunday rotating roster (ND will be required during ward rotations)
