About the Role

The VHI Project Manager will work directly with the Clinical Trial Operations Manager (Victorian Heart Institute, Monash University) and the Program Director, Victorian Heart Hospital, and will be responsible for day to day project management and site management of clinical trials assigned to the Project Manager by the Clinical Trial Operations Manager. This will include involvement in negotiation of site contracts, regulatory affairs and general trial management including interacting with sites. The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring the ongoing quality of study performance in line with Good Clinical Practice and the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research.  

The Project Manager will be expected to prepare and submit ethics committee submissions and progress reports as required, meet financial performance targets for assigned trials, undertake all site management responsibilities in a timely, responsive manner and complete study progress reports/trackers within required timelines. Reporting to the Program Director, Victorian Heart Hospital and the Commercial Clinical Trial Manager (Monash University), the Project Manager will work closely with other members of the VHI. The role will also interact with a range of external stakeholders including study site staff, VHI partners, MonashHeart, clients/sponsors (both nationally and internationally), regulators and members of respective Faculty. 

About You

The Victorian Heart Institute (VHI), co-located at the Victorian Heart Hospital is seeking an experienced Project Manager to assist us in the operationalisation and conduct of cardiovascular clinical trials at a national and/or international level.  The VHI is scoped with overseeing Phase 1 through to Phase 4 clinical trials and we're looking for someone who has the following: 

• Experience in project management for all phases of clinical research 
• A working knowledge of ICH GCP, and relevant policies/regulations 
• Competent in study start-up procedures and able to work autonomously through to study close-out, as required by the trial plan 
• Proficiency in data management practices for allocated trials 
• Certification, or demonstrated experience as a Clinical Research Associate 
• Exposure to Phase 1/First-in-human, and Implementatopn Science trials
