About the Role
Monash Health has a large portfolio of properties located across six major campuses, smaller satellite sites and numerous individual leaseholds; in total these incorporate individual properties including freehold, leasehold, licenced properties, government holdings and Crown land. This role will be responsible for the leadership of the property portfolio in actively managing all lease and licence agreements, retail services agreements and provide a strategic view on opportunities for the organisation to continue to maximise its property holdings including potential for divestment and/or consolidation of properties within the business.

you will be a driven individual able to lead the portfolio to achieve the best outcomes for Monash Health

showing leadership for the portfolio you will lead the refresh of the Property Strategy and set the 1 - 5 year workplan

empathetic and able to engage proactively across the organisation to support best outcomes for Programs and service delivery

you will have a good understanding of the key legislative requirements, relevant Acts and Policies that the portofolio must comply with
Key results areas:

Drive and renew the Monash Health Property Strategy
-
Maintain and build a central holding and management point for the management of property
-
Implementation of documentation to support the day to day management of the portfolio in line with relevant policies and Acts, e.g. Government Land Holding Policy, Crown Land Act and the Retail Services Act

Manage identified priority properties to secure long term tenure where appropriate, capitalise on income producing potential of owned assets or exiting properties as appropriate

Identify potential opportunities for consolidation, operational efficiencies and renegotiation

Lead and support planning and management of space allocations at major sites in line with site master plans and the property portfolio

Engage with external partners in the management of existing and new leases and space allocations/ management
-
Actively manage areas of risk and compliance
