Monash Health Psychology Position working in a supportive CCT Team

Opportunity for clincial indiviudal work and facilitating group work. The position based in Atherton rd Oakleigh maintains an active caseload and delivers a front line psychological service response to consumers.  The position is to provide evedence based, best practice pshological assemsments and interventions to consumers, particularly those with chronic and/or complex presenting issues.  The psychologists will help ion facilitating groups. The position also provides secondary consultation to the team and a broad range of relevant stakeholders regarding the formulation, treatment and management of patients within the service.  

 

About the Role

The position maintains an active case-load and delivers a front-line psychological service response to consumers. The position is to provide evidence-based, best practice psychological assessments and interventions consumers, particularly those with chronic and/or complex presenting issues. The psychologist will help in the facilitation of group treatment programs. The position also provides secondary consultation to the team and a broad range of relevant stakeholders regarding the formulation, treatment and management of patients within the service. The position holds clinical case discussions with the team and other relevant stakeholders regarding the mental health issues experienced by consumers in the service. The position provides psychology professional development opportunities to psychology staff, and provides supervision to psychologists, psychology registrars and students. This position is operationally directly accountable to their Operational Manager, clinically reports to the Consultant Psychiatrist(s) or other Medical Lead where appropriate, and is professionally accountable to the Psychology Discipline Senior and/or Director of Psychology (or delegate).

 

About You

Qualifications/registrations/licences (italics indicate desirable):

  • 4 Current general registration as a psychologist with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Authority (AHPRA)
  • Appropriate post-graduate qualifications (Masters or Doctoral Degree) in clinical psychology or forensic psychology in an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited course
  • Hold or be working towards AHPRA endorsement in clinical or forensic psychology
  • Experience working in Mental Health settings, in particular acute and/or community mental health settings
  • Evidence of participation in clinical research activities
  • Experience in facilitating group treatment programs
