About the Department/ Program  

The position provides psychological services to consumers as part of the groups program in the Clayton Continuing Care Team (CCT) at Atherton Road, Oakleigh. The Clayton CCT provides case management support and treatment for consumers aged from 25 to 65 years experiencing severe and persisting symptoms of mental illness. 

About the Role  

Join our team as a Psychologist on a {full time / part time to work at Atherton Road Centre, based at Oakleigh. In this role, you will be guided under the leadership of the CCT manager and working with the broader Psychology team.   

The focus of the position is to provide evidence-based psychological group therapy to consumers who present with psychotic disorders, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, trauma related disorders and personality disturbances. The position will also provide individual psychology services to consumers in the CCT to: 

• Conduct psychological assessments and provide meaningful feedback as per the model of care, including diagnostic assessments, formulation, and suitability for group therapy 

• Prepare psychological reports, and provide effective and timely verbal and written feedback to referrers, consumers and others, as appropriate 

• Use diagnosis, formulation, and consumers’ preferences to develop and deliver effective, evidence-based psychological intervention as per the model of care 

• Develop, facilitate and evaluate the effectiveness of group interventions such as CBT and ACT 

• Psychoeducation for psychosis  

• Trans-diagnostic treatment models 

• Social skills/communication skills  

• Identify and refer to appropriate ongoing psychological support as part of discharge planning 

• Offer a psychological perspective to the treating team and other relevant stakeholders 

• Engage in supervision as per supervision policies  

• Practice ethically and professionally, including adhering to legal, ethical and organisational standards, including the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act (2022) 

• Participate in clinical research projects, or pilot projects associated with service development, including data collection and analysis Grade 2 Psychologist – Clayton CCT Groups Program  

• Participate in department meetings and other meetings when requested or required 

• Mentor provisional psychologists on student placement 

About You  

To be successful in this healthcare role, you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience, and attributes:  

• Knowledge and skills in providing evidence-based psychological assessments, reports,  

• formulation, intervention and evaluation of outcomes with groups and individuals 

• Grade 2 Psychologist – Clayton CCT Groups Program  

• Knowledge and/or experience in providing psychological services to adults with complex mental health presentations including psychotic disorders, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, trauma related disorders and personality disturbance 

Mandatory requirements of the role - qualifications, licences, memberships:   

• Master or Doctorate of Psychology 

• Current general registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Professionals  

• Regulation Authority (AHPRA) 

• Hold or working toward endorsement in clinical psychology
