Public Health offers a diverse range of experiences for a new graduate psychologist entering the workforce. The Monash Health Registrar Program offers you a supportive learning environment where you can work with different presentations across the lifespan. This will allow you to deepen your knowledge of the competencies and increase your skills whilst giving you the opportunity to gain an understanding of the Public Health system.
About the Psychology Registrar Program
In your rotations you will be:
- Working with consumers across the lifespan in various settings (inpatient and outpatient)
- Performing the duties of a fully registered psychologist including providing assessment and treatment as is appropriate for the service
- Engaged and exposed to evidence-based psychological clinical practice
- Engaged and supported in providing your practice in compliance with the code of ethics and legal requirements of psychology
Our graduate rotating registrar program offers amazing benefits to ensure you meet all criteria of your endorsement process. This includes:
- 4 hours of protected learning time per week
- A reduced clinical case load
- Support to develop wellness and resilience strategies
- Readily available primary supervision that remains stable throughout your endorsement process with senior psychologists and educators
- A robust and structured group supervision program over the 2-year period which covers all competencies and provides up to date information and resources
- An in-depth and engaging clinical education program with professional development workshops and expert panels on topics relating to the competencies and professional practice
- Opportunity to attend external professional development
- Discovery days where you can organise to visit a different psychology service to observe for the day.
About You
To be considered you need to have:
- Current general registration as a psychologist with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Authority (AHPRA)
- Appropriate post-graduate qualifications (Masters or Doctoral Degree) in Clinical Psychology, Forensic Psychology or Clinical Neuropsychology
- Eligibility to enrol in the Clinical Psychology, Forensic Psychology or Clinical Neuropsychology Registrar Program
