About the Role:
Join our team for this exciting opportunity as a Senior Clinical Neuropsychologist for the Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation Service.
The position provides psychological services to patients of the Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation Services (VPRS) of Monash Children’s Hospital. VPRS is a state-wide specialist rehabilitation service for children and adolescents aimed at maximising function after major injury, medical illness, and congenital conditions. VPRS utilises a child and adolescent-specific interdisciplinary care model according to best-practice and delivers hospital, community- and home-based services.
The role is Part time Temporary: 16 hours a week for one year, with potential for an extension

Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation Service:
The Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation Service (VPRS) is a statewide specialist service which caters for the complex rehabilitation needs of children and adolescents after major injury, medical illness, and congenital conditions who undergo interventions aimed at functional maximisation. VPRS has 8 sites Eastern Health, Bendigo Health, Barwon Health, Grampian Health, Goulbourn Valley Health, Latrobe Regional Hospital and at The Royal Children’s Hospital. VPRS utilises a child and adolescent specific interdisciplinary care model according to best practice and will assist in delivering hospital, community- and home-based services. The service has a key role in providing long-term specialist follow-up clinics and ensuring transition to adult-based services where required. The VPRS team at Monash Health has both inpatient and ambulatory patients
About You:
To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:
- Advanced knowledge and skills in providing evidence-based psychological assessments, reports, formulation, intervention and evaluation of outcomes with individuals/groups
- Advanced knowledge and/or experience in providing psychological services to children and adolescents with acquired brain injury, functional neurological disorders and congenital and acquired neurological disorders
- Experience in paediatric rehabilitation
- Experience providing secondary consultation
- Experience supporting the development of skills in others
What you will need:
- Current general registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Authority (AHPRA) and consent to ongoing registration checks via Monash Health’s electronic credentialing systems
- Hold endorsement in Clinical Neuropsychology
- Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA) approved supervisor, or able to complete supervisor training within six months of accepting the role
- Current and ongoing employment screening, including but not limited to, National Police Check, employee Working with Children Check (WWC) and where relevant Aged Care Worker Screening, and as required National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Screening
- Minimum of five years professional experience as a Psychologist Grade 2 (or equivalent)
